NOTE: class size is limited , the first paid dogs will be given the slots. So it is a good idea to mail your payment in right away.
1. Attention Exercise-teaching the dog to focus on the handler makes training much easier.
2. Sit-Stay-this exercise is taught using a 6ft. lead. 3. Down-Stay-this exercise is taught using a 6ft. lead.
4. Heel-this exercise is taught using a 6ft. lead with the dog walking on your left-side on a loose lead ending with an automatic sit.
5. Come-this exercise is taught using a 6ft. lead ending with a front sit.
6. Place-this exercise teaches the dog to go to a mat from anywhere in the house. It is less restrictive than the Stay command, as the dog is allowed to be in any position as long as they do not leave the mat. This is a wonderful exercise for when company comes over.
Please understand that results from this or any training program require that YOU put time and effort into TRAINING YOUR DOG. Training doesn't happen through osmosis, don't we wish it did! You must attend all of the training classes and work with your dog at home daily.
Class will meet every Monday at 6:00pm for approximately an hour. Please make sure you dress appropriately as we will be holding class outside. Please wear shoes that you could walk/run in. Don't forget all of your equipment from the equipment list I will send with the Enrollment Form. In case of rain we will hold class inside, so please come to every class!
Please contact me via email at firedogk9@yahoo.com, so that I can send you the enrollment forms and a list of equipment you will need for class if you can't download the forms located on the left side of this page. All dogs must be up to date on all of their vaccines and you must provide a copy of the records that I will keep with your enrollment forms.
